Meet The Team

Virginia grew up down the street from Andrew and Stuart, in Northfield, IL. She graduated from New Trier H.S. and later Columbia College Chicago with a degree in Photography and Journalism. Ever since Virginia was a child she has wanted to save all the animals and give them all her love.  It’s safe to say she has a special connection, understanding and love for all animals that fuels Doggie Dharma, as well as her Animal Advocacy and Rescue work.  When she has free time you might find her in the forest with her dog Diesel. She loves to unwind by exploring with her film camera, but getting lost in a good song or book is always at the top of her list too.  Every morning she feels blessed and honored to be able to care for your beloved pets and consider all the heart of the Doggie Dharma family.

Andrew was raised in Northfield, IL and currently lives in Glenview. He graduated from Universal Technical Institute in 2008 with a degree in Mechanics. In his spare time Andrew loves to go fishing, camping and getting his hands dirty, whether that is working in the garden and yard, building and fixing things, inventing and creating, or just messing around in the garage . He also loves to explore the world with with his 8 year old daughter Quinn, his fiance Virginia and their american bulldog, Diesel. Shortly after Andrew and Virginia became engaged, Andrew quit his job and began walking dogs and caring for animals with Doggie Dharma. He quickly became a favorite among our furry friends and clients. It’s safe to say that he has discovered a talent for connecting with all animals.

Stuart grew up locally in Northfield as well, down the hall from his brother, and fellow Doggie Dharma walker, Andrew. Stuart loves waking up every day to go see and care for his dogs and other furry friends with Doggie Dharma. At home he is blessed with his pup Summer and Max, his 13 year old Main coon cat.  In his free time he enjoys watching live music, being in good company and is always up for an adventure.  Animal Pet Care is close to his heart and you will find he goes above and beyond the call of duty.  When you can’t find him walking dogs or playing with cats, he is most likely surrounded by his friends or putting away some serious video game time.

Jeanette has been walking dogs since 2010.  She has many years of experience working with veterinarians as well. She currently resides with 2 dogs, 5 cats and 9 parakeets right now. Jeanette is a lover of all animals and loves her job as a professional animal caretaker. **Pictured is her pup  Brutus Caesar Achilles, because as Jeanette says, a 4 pound dog needs a 40 pound name!

Kim is a proud parent of 5.  Three “real” children and 2 four legged children.  She loves animals and has always felt better with an animal by her side. She has been caring for animals in some capacity her entire life. When not walking dogs, she enjoys spending time with her family.  She tries to run daily and enjoys going on long bike rides, camping and spending time outdoors.

Heather grew up in Park Ridge with a collie named Holly, and learned how lovable pets are. After marrying, she lived in Taiwan for 3 years, and had 3 more dogs and a cat who had several litters of kittens. She has since learned that one must always neuter their pets! Since her return, she has lived in Glenview for 42 years. During those years, she has probably had as many as 50 cats – not all at once! Once retired, she began to volunteer at PAWS of North Shore. With all her experience with cats, you’d think she would work with them. But cats can be boring! So she mostly cleans crates and walks dogs. It was while having this new fondness of dogs and the joy it is to walk them, she decided  that working at Doggie Dharma would be a great place to be. Getting to know the dogs on a regular basis has been rewarding. At PAWS, one comes back and the dog usually has been adopted. A good thing.

Hi! my name is Liz. I am a student at Shimer College, Chicago’s Great Books school.  So I read, a lot! And I love it! I also love being outdoors-bike riding, staring at the lake, sight-seeing, camping and, of course, dog walking. Most of my time is spent studying, but when I’m not I’m probably cooking or exploring the city’s many historical gems. I will be graduating this year, and plan on enrolling in a personality psychology graduate program next year.

Ashley grew up in Lake Forest & currently lives in Lake Bluff. She has worked in the natural pet industry for 10 years! Ashley has a beautiful 8 year old daughter named Virginia James, a 13 year old Boston Terrier named Lily Monster, a 3 year old Pitbull Boxer mix named Frankie and 2 chubby little Guinea Pigs named Fred and George. When she isn’t walking pups, she loves listening to music, watching movies and spending time with her family!

Hi! My name is Virginia James and I am 9 years old. I love unicorns and every single animal on the planet! When I am not in school, I love to play with my animals, read, play minecraft, SING and eat lots of candy! But best of all I like to help my mom Ashley walk dogs!

Hi! My name is Quinn and I am 8 years old. Andrew is my Daddy and Virginia is my Stepmom. I have an American bulldog/Pitbull mix Diesel, and I love her very much. She is such a good pup! Diesel was a rescue puppy and she was my first dog ever. I have known her since she was a baby, but I was only a baby too so I don’t remember the first time we met. She is 7 years old now. I also have a dog Rocco who I love too! He lives with my Mommy, Stepdad and 2 sisters. He is a boxer and a total goofball.  I just love going to work with Daddy and Virginia. I like learning about all the animals we care for and I like to leave the owner’s notes to let them know about our time together! I can’t go to all the houses, but the ones I can go to are my favorites.
